New model at Funk Audio

A long time in development.  Funk Audio has an Active line array!

Preliminary results look pretty good.

Pity I'm in China instead of working on it in the flesh.  But Nathan is pretty good at posting me what's going on.

Take a look:

New drivers update

Sometimes all the i's get dotted and the t's crossed at the right time.  Our new 8 is in this category.  Pretty much to spec in it's first iteration. This does not happen often!

So what has to modified is the surround.  It works well, and looks good.  But it does not allow even the rated linear excursion!  I like my drivers to meet specifications and I don't like to settle for good enough!  There's plenty of those kinds of drivers out in the market as is.  I'm shooting for pushing the envelope!

What's new in driver design?

Well it's been a busy couple of days.  The New Neodymium line is almost ready to test.  Waiting as always for the little parts.   Like cones and dust caps.  The motors are all done and energized.  I'm slowly putting up the videos and you will be able to see them.  I'll post links on the custom drivers page as things are live and coordinated.

Starting the DIY Transducers Page

I'll be setting up the DIY purchases of drivers on this page.

We did a boat load of driver assembly today.  So I have been slowly uploading the videos and will be creating the page as I have time.

I picked up the magnets for the long throw 15:

It's the biggest slug of Neo 48H I have ever worked with.  Should make for a very interesting motor.

24mm thick 98mm in diameter with a 30mm hole in the middle.

Good thing it is not charged!  Actually I probably wouldn't be typing this if it was charged!

The new Drivers are shaping up.

Finally after many months of engineering I am seeing the fruits of my labour.  Four drivers that have been waiting to be developed are now in the pre-production phase.

That means that we use the same components as would be done in a production run, and assemble them in order to prove out the designs in the real world.

Here are a few pics:

All of these drivers can be customized with different cones, and dustcaps.  The suspension can be rejigged to be used in different sized enclosures upon request.  Minimum run size is 100 pieces.
