Kravchenko-Audio has been in existence since 1989. We started out as a custom build and install firm. As experience grew we started specializing in horn design in 1993, and driver design in 1997. We provide some of the most comprehensive abilities in terms of measurement and manufacturing of custom work in the industry. Our custom manufacturing background provides true depth in our understanding of what can and won't work in practical applications. We built custom loudspeakers for clients for years. We have taught other clients how to finish, veneer, and improve the cabinet work that they offer to their clients. We go to vendors and validate their methods of construction. Not with eyes wide open in awe, but with decades of building experience behind our observations. From custom enclosures to custom drivers and dividing networks we have the capabilities you need and want. We have full machine shop capabilities and the experience to make what we design. Prototypes are done in-house. Not farmed out.
Your prototypes can be created from concepts and ideas right on through to products that you can display, test, measure and listen to with pride and confidence. Be it a one off sample to small scale production runs, Kravchenko-Audio has the means and capabilities to make your design concepts a reality. And yes we have worked from napkin sketches! We offer full CAD capabilities and computer aided simulations using some of the most accurate means and methods available today.
We backup our simulations using well well regarded test and measurement methods, and well understood product experience. Remember doing T/S parameters with a scope, function generator, and a TI calculator? Did you upgrade to writing a program in BASIC? Begged and borrowed a pen plotter so you could record what you were measuring with the function /sweep generator? That is how it all started here. Now we use Smith&Larson test and measurement hardware to provide solid repeatable performance characteristic measurements.
Our system provides measurement means that are second to none. Using some interesting gear we can do real time linear displacement and vibratory measurements. And current projects are underway to do setup very high resolution measurement microphone arrays for on and off axis measurements that will be on the bleeding edge of accuracy. We incorporate a NAIS laser rangefinder to provide displacement measurement results that can be confidently compared to some of the best available. We call it Klippel-ish. Yes there is something out there that is equal to Klippel. There always has been.

A little slide show of our in-house software designed by Ákos Mogyorósi one of the most gifted software designers that I have ever had the privilege of working with. We did this over a period of about a year. I was the researcher and he was the man that tied all the parts together. It turns out that the super expensive Multi-physical FEA programs are using the same mathematical models as opensource FEA programs. I discovered this through a thesis written by an intelligent fellow. In fact he compared Ansys and Comsol to Calculix and Z88 Aurora. With careful work they can all provide equally accurate results. The programs that are sold are sophisticated wrappers for the basic math functions. Ákos has a naturally inquisitive mind and was very interested in designing loudspeaker drivers before we ever met. Together Ákos with his own original code for lumped and blocked inductance calculations, plus integrating the four programs that we were using into one all encompassing multi-physics software suite for designing and simulating a complete loudspeaker. The only thing that we do not directly design within the software is the loudspeaker frame! Without Ákos we would not be in the strong position that we are currently in in the design and simulation side of driver design.
